Server control
A place for every conversation.
Build your channel layout, organize categories, and control who can access them.
Open the command center, sign in, and connect the Discord account you use to manage your server. Select your server, authorize GRIMWIRE in Discord, then follow Setup & status. If you want to help test or arrange access, contact GRIMWIRE Actual in our community Discord.
Do I need to install an EXE, host the bot, or keep my PC on?+
No. Server owners and testers use Discord and this website. GRIMWIRE runs the bot service and handles its updates. The Windows host software is for the GRIMWIRE operator; you do not need it to manage your server.
Why isn’t my server in the selector?+
Check that you connected the correct Discord account and that it owns the server or has Manage Server or Administrator there. A GRIMWIRE website role alone does not grant access to a Discord server. After changing permissions, return to the dashboard and refresh the server list.
Discord says I must verify my account. What should I do?+
Complete the verification Discord requests in your Discord account settings, then try connecting again. Google or email can sign you in to the website, but you still need to link an eligible Discord account to manage a server.
Access & teamwork
Who can change settings or see private server information?+
Manage Server, Administrator, or server ownership gives access to the dashboard. Sensitive server controls, moderation management, member activity and staff history are restricted to the Discord server owner and Administrators. Individual actions also check the required Discord permissions and role positions.
Can several staff members manage the same server?+
Yes. Each person signs in with their own account and links their own Discord identity. Eligible managers see the same server and shared settings. Conflicting saves are checked so an older edit does not silently overwrite someone else’s work; follow the reload or review prompt before saving again.
Why can’t the bot assign a role or moderate a member?+
The bot needs the permission for the action and a high enough role position. Put its highest role above roles it should award and members it should moderate. The person requesting the action must also be authorized. Only the server owner or an Administrator can configure automatic starter roles and milestone rewards.
Do I need to refresh after every change?+
No. The dashboard checks for updated settings, connection status and results automatically. Save changes when a section asks you to; saved and applied are separate states while the bot catches up. Brief connection interruptions retry automatically, and editing panels protect in-progress drafts.
Features & setup
What’s the difference between YouTube announcements and live links?+
YouTube announcements follow one selected public YouTube channel per server, including live streams, uploads, optional Shorts and scheduled notices. Community live links let multiple members register their own YouTube, Twitch or Kick channels for going-live alerts in one shared destination. Twitch and Kick become available when the GRIMWIRE operator connects those platforms.
How do members add their stream, and how quickly do alerts appear?+
A manager first chooses a Live links channel, enables the feature and saves. Members can then use /live add, /live list and /live remove in that server; managers can manage another member’s links too. Live links check Twitch and Kick about every two minutes and YouTube about every ten minutes. Alerts are not instant, and streams already running when a link is registered are skipped.
Can I choose my YouTube channel and customize announcements?+
Yes. Select a public YouTube channel by URL or @handle, choose the Discord destination, and set messages, accent colour and optional notification roles. YouTube announcements have their own timing controls. Enabling alerts or changing the source or destination starts fresh, so old content is not posted as a backlog.
How do XP, leaderboards and milestone roles work?+
When XP is enabled, eligible messages and new server boosts earn XP. Message cooldowns and excluded channels help keep rankings useful. Members can check /rank, while daily, weekly, monthly and all-time boards show progress. Enable milestone roles in Activity & levels to award roles at chosen lifetime levels. Members already above a milestone can receive it on their next XP award; previously earned roles stay assigned.
How do personal welcome cards work?+
Link Discord and customize your card in your welcome card settings. It can appear when you join a server that enables welcome cards and personal designs. Server managers can instead use a shared server design, and choose where welcome cards are posted.
What do Observe mode and resolved cases mean?+
AutoMod Observe mode alerts staff to matching messages without blocking them. Enforce mode blocks matches and applies the actions configured for that rule. In the review queue, open and resolved describe staff follow-up: resolving a case does not remove a warning, end a timeout or reverse a ban. Join-spike alerts notify staff without automatically punishing new members.
Alpha, privacy & support
Is GRIMWIRE finished, and will there be paid features?+
GRIMWIRE is in active alpha development. The tools listed here are built, with availability depending on setup, permissions and connected services. Features will keep improving through real-server testing. Premium features are planned, but subscriptions are not on sale; pricing and the final feature split will be announced before paid access begins.
How can I help test and get lifetime Premium?+
Message GRIMWIRE Actual in the community Discord if you want to test, report issues or help shape the bot. Lifetime free Premium is offered to people who arrange testing or help directly with GRIMWIRE Actual. Get in touch so your participation and future access can be confirmed.
What information is recorded, and are leaderboards public?+
The bot keeps settings, moderation cases and activity records needed for its features. Activity and case histories do not store full message content. Staff can choose a history retention window of 7–730 days; Discord log messages remain subject to the server’s own management. Website XP leaderboards are public only when sharing is enabled, exposing member names, XP and levels. Invite attribution is inferred and may be unknown. See the privacy policy for more information.
How do I report an issue or an alert that did not arrive?+
Use Report an issue beside the Alpha badge at the top of the command center. Describe what you expected and what happened; the form includes relevant diagnostics. For a missing alert, check setup status, the selected channel, bot permissions and delivery results first. If a delivery is uncertain, check Discord before retrying to avoid a duplicate. You can also ask in our community Discord.
